Ackworth Community Library opened in March 2013, and since then they have increased the membership to over 1,700 library users and have developed a catalogue of over 19,000 books. They deliver the library service to local schools, reaching over 1000 pupils. Since opening as a Community Library they have begun to start purchasing new equipment to replace some of the older items such as computers and printing equipment. Their events calendar has grown, reflecting our ethos that Ackworth Community Library is ‘more than just books’. Regular coffee mornings, readers’ groups and children’s activities as well an annual Autumn Craft Fair and Christmas Fair are some of the events.
